2 Bedrooms • 1 Bathroom • Sleeps 2-4Welcome to Camp Stardust, a sweet cabin in the woods, on the water, with ultimate privacy. There are no neighbors, you share this slice of heaven with wildlife and the occasional canoe gliding by.
The cabin is all windows, so the views are stunning, even at night. We turn off the lights, turn on the fire, and enjoy the reflection of the moon off the lake. The sight of the fog lifting in the morning is worth the early rise.
Need to work while here? We have fiber optic 50/50 wifi, and a desk against the window so you can Zoom with a view.
PLEASE NOTE: all guests must agree to read and sign our electronic lease as well as read the full description and house instructions so there are no surprises for any of us! If this is OK with you, read on:
This is a no pets, no parties, no smoking cabin, max 4 persons including children. There is NO CELL SERVICE here.
We follow CDC recommendations for cleaning, and provide lots of extras to make your stay easy and breezy.
Sleeps up to 4, but is the perfect romantic getaway for two. You will find plenty of hiking, kayaking (BEST in the area!), swimming, exploring, skiing, snowshoe and snowmobile opportunities. We supply local guide books and restaurant recommendations.
The open floor plan with cathedral ceilings creates a spacious, airy main room with carefree gas fireplace. There are 2 bedrooms, one with queen bed, one with a double. A separate TV room is for watching movies, reading or enjoying that mid afternoon nap. Great lake views from this sweet little room as well.
Camp Stardust has one bath (shower only), an outdoor hot shower in the warmer months, indoor gas fireplace, outdoor fire pit, full kitchen, Weber charcoal grill, great wifi, 40' flat screen for DVD movies and Netflix (but no cable), land line phone (no cell service), and a fabulous Sonos Stereo system with indoor and outdoor speakers to enjoy music while grilling or chilling.
SPRING and SUMMER
This is a kayak haven! You have 4 kayaks, a canoe and adult life preservers. Our Lakefront Boathouse provides easy access to the water. Watercraft available May 10-Nov 1.
Kayak 10 minutes to the right, you are on stunning Piseco Lake. Kayak 30 minutes to the left (for the experienced kayaker) to the more remote wilderness of Big Bay Lake. Lots of natural shoreline and wildlife to explore. Most of our waterfront is too shallow to swim, so we paddle to the lake and enjoy the sandy bottom of Piseco Lake for a swim.
FALL
Need we say how stunningly beautiful it is here during foliage? It's magical.
WINTER
This cabin is like living inside a snow globe in the winter. There are so many windows you are simply surrounded by snowfall. A unique feature is that the slightly moving water rarely freezes, so expect water views and wildlife sightings year round. Otters are frequently seen sliding across the ice, very fun to watch!
Many hiking, snowshoeing and x-country ski adventures. Great fishing. There is a small but very fun ski mountain, Oak Mt., next town over with great vibe, music and meals. Gore ski mountain is a 50 minute drive. We supply 4 sets of adult snowshoes and one child pair. We are surrounded by woods, lakes and rivers, so a snowshoe adventure right from the front door will take you through very pretty forest and river front spots.
This is snowmobile country with hundreds of miles of groomed trails through the woods and across the many lakes. Stop in to a local pub for lunch and a beer, and head out to the next lake. Local rentals, lessons and guides available.
But our favorite activity is sitting by the fire with a hot cocoa and observing the wilderness and the ever changing weather from the comfort of the sofa :).
An all wheel (or 4 wheel) drive vehicle is necessary to navigate our snowy dirt driveway in winter. It is plowed regularly but can be tricky in icy weather. We recommend guests bring warm outdoor clothing, yak traks, tall snow boots and a sense of adventure!
DISCLOSURE: there is a security camera on the driveway, used to monitor arrivals, departures, deliveries and snowfall.
What's to LOVE? Just about everything listed above.
What might you NOT love? There is a small bridge nearby that separates our outlet from Piseco Lake, and you can hear the cars going over the bridge when outside which is the only thing we wish was different.
Also, RECYCLES are a real hassle here. Guests who choose to stay here must agree to take theirs home if they bring a lot in, or take a trip to the transfer station down the road and leave them there. Leaving a few is fine.
This is a great home for self reliant, independent travelers looking for very comfortable, private and pristine accommodation in a unique and special spot. Piseco and the surrounding area are beautiful, but have limited entertainment venues other than nature hikes, mountains, wildlife, lakes and rivers.
Guests must be 25 years of age if not with a parent.

About the Owner
We love renovating cabins and introducing this stunning, unknown area to guests. Maura has been coming here her entire life, and always knew she'd grow up to own her own cabin, just never thought it would end up being 6!Location
